Wendy began painting ‘Study in Blue and Green’ as a counterpoint to Pink and blue waves.
With this work, Wendy’s goal was to explore light and dark and experiment with the many hues of blue and green.
As the layers developed, the painting became darker and more intense. Wendy worked with light and dark to highlight central areas. The darker areas around the edges were fine tuned using a wet cloth to remove excess black paint.
The canvas holds many layers of paint and is one of Wendy’s most textured works as she strove to balance the colours.
